Summer Theatre

Reagle Players annually produces three summer musicals starring Broadway professionals as well as regional amateur talent. From the outset, Reagle’s purpose has been to present the most professional productions by recreating the original Broadway productions whenever possible, from sets and costumes to choreography and direction. Reagle Players is not a community theatre company; although we call ourselves “semi-professional” to emphasize the presence of our thousands of regional performers, the licensing agents we deal with, including Actor’s Equity, the Rodgers and Hammerstein Theatre Library and Tams-Witmark Music Library among others, consider us a professional theatre company.

Original Musical Revuesreagle players

In addition to three summer musicals, we annually produce three original musical revues featuring regional performers and guest artists during the rest of the year. In the 1970’s, Reagle Players’ first original musical revue, Remembering the 40’s, began as a dinner theatre show at The Chateau Restaurant in Waltham; thirty years later, it continues to make money for the theatre. Over 200,000 people have seen our annual Christmas spectacular, It’s ChristmasTime, and Reagle Players is the only regional theatre company specially licensed by Radio City Music Hall Productions to use the exact choreography and costumes for two numbers in this show. An Irving Berlin musical revue, Say It with Music, and an Irish musical revue titled A Little Bit of Ireland are also performed perennially, and other revues are in the process of being developed.

Concert Series

In 2003 the company inaugurated a Concert Series, bringing the talents of Tommy Tune, Robert Goulet, Ann-Margret, Debbie Reynolds and others to local audiences, two or three times a year. In 2006, Patti LuPone was recognized for her concert with the first IRNE (Independent Reviewers of New England) Award for Best Solo Performance.

Youth Programs

The Reagle Players offers workshops throughout the winter and spring in addition to the Musical Theatre Summer Camp. The format of the Summer Camp is similar to our Winter and Spring programs and includes technique classes in acting, voice and dance as well as Master Classes with Broadway professionals.
